Currently, entrepreneur and economist Dr. Ayman Kandeel has business interests and other professional commitments in the U.S., the Middle East, and elsewhere worldwide. “Right now, I’m in the process of acquiring a major sports and entertainment sector business in the Egyptian capital of Cairo,” he reveals, “intending to invest heavily in this sector in the next few years.”
At the same time, Dr. Kandeel is simultaneously in the early stages of setting up a new charity, he reports, to sponsor promising athletes in individual sports. “The initiative is set to proudly sponsor underfunded sporting talent in Egypt,” the philanthropic businessman explains.
Dr. Kandeel is also the name behind a renowned publishing company. The firm produced over 40 publications in English, Arabic, Greek, and Chinese. “Our work was featured on multiple media outlets,” he reveals, speaking from his home in Southern California, “including the BBC, NPR, CNN, NBC, and Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show.”
Today, Dr. Ayman Kandeel maintains an interest in publishing and is a major shareholder in one of the Middle East’s most renowned below-the-line advertising firms.

Dr. Ayman Kandeel’s work as a leading entrepreneur and economist follows years spent forging a distinguished academic career. Now retired from teaching as a field, Dr. Kandeel previously enjoyed significant acclaim as a lecturer prior to shifting his focus toward the business ventures he now oversees on a day-to-day basis.
Dr. Kandeel has, in the past, taught at prestigious universities both in the U.S. and internationally. “I’m immensely proud to have previously built a distinguished academic career in addition to my work as a businessman, economist, and philanthropist,” he explains.
The now-retired academic first served as a professor at Cairo University in Egypt. “I myself studied in the city as a young man,” reveals the entrepreneur and economist, “earning a degree in economics from the American University in Cairo.”
Before turning to teaching, entrepreneurship, or economics, Dr. Ayman Kandeel further enjoyed a wildly successful spell in advertising in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Outside of his work and charitable efforts, Dr. Kandeel is a lifelong comic book fan. He’s also an avid photographer with further interests in diving, soccer, and world politics.
